Eyes
I finally had my eyes tested today. I’ve been a bit lax to say the least when it comes to regular testing, which is rather silly of me as both my grandfather and father suffer from glaucoma. The good news from the test is that I have no signs of glaucoma which is a relief. Not only this, one of my eyes has slightly got better. I’m not as blind as I was on one side, the other eye is slightly worse, maybe making up for the good news.
So, I had the lady at the opticians help me choose new frames and when I get paid I’ll be able to pay for a new pair of specs. I was a bit disappointed that they wouldn’t make them up for me and let me pay for them when I picked them up, but I can’t complain, two pairs of specs for £159, which sounds dear but I opted for the expensive lenses with super coatings and specially thinned otherwise the weight of the lenses alone would render my nose into implosion territory. The second pair I will have as sunglasses, which is a new one on me, I’ve never had a pair of prescription sunglasses, I’ve always been the knob that wore two pairs of glasses, one on top of the other.
I know a few of you will say you could get cheaper specs online, which is true, I do have a copy of my prescription with the relevant details should I choose to do so, but I much prefer to see what I’m buying, especially if the damn things will be on my face most of the day. I might in the future buy some wacky specs just for the hell of it.
Now my quest is to survive for long enough so that I can wear my new glasses…lol
